Classes prepare students for competition at your discretion
Each student will be evaluated to be placed in proper class level.
Uniform: Every student at time of registration must purchase a starter pack that will include 1 school T-shirt & a pair of school shorts. This is to insure that our dress code will be enforced. A student’s appearance does affect the way they perform in class. Sizes Youth S, M, L & Adult S, M, L - Other KKO merchandise available.
Tir Na Nog An introduction program for 3 & 4 year old dancers. Designed to enhance rhythm skills, coordination, musicality and a genuine love for the art of dance. Children will learn basic soft shoe movements and music timing. This is a 45 minute class.
Beginners: A 45 minute introduction program for dancers ages 5and up. Designed to enhance rhythm skills, coordination, musicality & a genuine love for Irish Dance. Basic soft shoe, Reel & Jig.
Advance Beginners & Novice 1: A 1 hour 15 minute class for 2nd & 3rd year dancers continuing there Irish Dance education. Expanding on concepts learned in Reel & Jig and commencing Slip Jig & Hard Shoe. Classes will enhance students technique as well as performance quality in each discipline.
Novice 2: A 1 hour 30 minute class for the advanced students who have placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Novice Hard Shoe. This class concentrates on technique & performance for competition. Dancers will prepare Reel, Light Jig, Slip Jig, Slow Hard Jig, Slow Hornpipe & Traditional Set for competition. Classes will enhance students technique as well as performance quality in each discipline.
Prizewinner: For students who have placed in Novice Slow Hard Shoe Jig & Hornpipe.
Teams (Ceili & Choreography): All classes take place on Tuesdays. Attendance is extremely important. Classes are divided by age. All dancers must participate in class for 1 year before being able to compete with a team.
Drama: Classes will take place on Friday evenings in the months of September, October & November.
Championship Dance Programs
A Series of classes each week, ranging in length at different locations. For the advanced students concentrating on technique and performance for competition. Dancers are welcome to attend classes that fit their schedule & preferance. This is a fast paced class so dancers are expect to attend class at least twice a week, practice at home & schedule private lessons for extra help.
Early Preliminary:
For dancers who have wn 1st place in Prizewinner & compete in Prelim Chamionships, but do not yet place at feisanna on a regular basis.
Adv Preliminary Championship & Open Championship : All dancers who have recalled at the Oireachtas & have won 1st place in a preliminary competition or place consistantly in prelims. All students are expected to arrive on time, stretch before and after class, and will be given responsibilities by teachers as they will be looked upon in the school as role models. This is a high expectations class and discipline measures will be taken if dancers ar not working upto teachers expectations.
Additional Classes
Saturday Lessons: Lessons are in addition to regular weekly classes. Open to Novice 2 level dancers and above. These lessons are extremely helpful in your child’s progress. All privates take place in Brewster. wth .
Session I: 6 Lessons September - November
Session II: 6 Lessons January - March
Session II: 6 Lessons April - June
Semi - Privates: 50 min lesson, assigned by dance, with no more than 5 dancers. Each Session costs $120 per dancer
Private Lessons: 50 min lesson for an individule or siblings. Each session costs $300 per hour.

No Refunds. All classes are to be paid in full at the beginning of each session. Late payments will be assessed a $25 late fee. All Outstanding Balances from 2007-2008 must be paid before dancers can register for the next year.
Discounts: Payments must be made on time to recieve the following discounts.
Deposit of $150 or $200 by July 1, 2008 *Beginners will not be penalized if signing up after July 1st.
To recieve a 10% discount, the remaining balance must be paid in full by 9/20/08
To recieve a 5% discount, the remaining balance must be paid in 2 payments (9/20 & 1/5).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
*Dancers planning to compete at the Oireachtas or The North American Championships on a solo level
are required to compete with teams as well.
*Classes are planned to coincide in a manner to benefit all dancers in attendance.
*Dancers planning on joining the team classes must attend the Team Workshops
- See Summer Camp information.
*Tuition covers 1 class a week for all solo classes (unlimited classes for championships).
*The first 2 children from the family pay for a full session each.
The 3rd child will pay for half a session.
Families with 4 or more children only pay for the first 3 children.
*Any missed classes can be made up at another location at any time.
*College Students: If you are interested in continuing your Irish Dance experience
while you pursue your college education you can pay $20.00 per class that you attend.
*All Members are required to volunteer 2 hours time at the Feis in January, or pay a $50 fee.
*Oir Solo dancers are required to perform in at least 3 shows in March & 1 Parade. The show schedule will be posted as the contracts are returned. Shows will be filled on a "first to sign up" basis. Dancers who do not fulfill their requirement with be charged a $50 fee or suspension of solo at the Oireachtas.
