Tir Na Nog:
Beginners: |
Dance class for students ages 2 - 4 years old
Irish Dance, Music & Movement
A 45 minute introduction program designed to enhance rhythm skills, coordination, musicality & a genuine love for Irish Dance. Great for younger siblings!
Dance class for students ages 5 and up. A 45 minute introduction program designed
to enhance rhythm skills, coordination, musicality & a genuine love for Irish Dance. Basic
soft shoe, Reel & Jig. |
| Advance
Beginners & Novice 1: |
A 1 hour 15 minute class once a week, for 2nd & 3td year dancers continuing
there Irish Dance education. Expanding on
concepts learned in Reel & Jig and commencing
Slip Jig & Hard Shoe. Dancers will prepare Reel, Light Jig,
Slip Jig, Fast Hard Jig, Fast Hornpipe & Traditional Set for competition. Classes will enhance students technique as well as performance quality in each discipline. |
Novice
2 / Prizewinner/
Prelim U12 : |
A 2 hour class once a week, for the intermediate dancers
who have received a 1st place in Novice
hard shoe. Dancers will prepare Reel, Light
Jig, Slip Jig, Slow Hard Jig, Slow Hornpipe & Traditional Set
for competition. Classes will enhance students
technique as well as performance quality in
each discipline. Advanced students will concentrate
on technique & performance for competition. Dancers must have a 1st place in Prizewinner Slow Jig & Hornpipe to prepare for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas in November. |
| Preliminary 13 & Over / Open Championships: |
A 2 hour class twice a week, for the elite student consisting
of exercises & drills of world level material. Dancers are expected to attend class 2 times a week, practice outside of class & schedule private lessons for upcoming major competitions. |
Team Class (Ceili, Drama & Choreography):

All dancers planning to compete at the Oireachtas
or North American Championships on a solo
level are required to compete with teams as
well.
Team classes are divided by age and take place on Tuesday nights at the VFW Hall in Carmel. The program is designed to enhance team skills, coordination, dance movements & a team moral. Open to all dancers of an Advanced Beginner level and above. Basic soft shoe & ceili dancing. Dancers will compete at competition at the end of the year. Teams compete annually at the Mid-Atlantic Oireachtas in Philadelphia, PA Thanksgiving weekend and at the North American Championships in July. Attendance is extremely important.
